Mug Shot Monday: Mermaids!

Some of our favorite things are functional and beautiful art, so it’s no wonder that we love mugs! Here at MugShot Mondays we hope to share with you, our friends, just a bit of the creative and colorful mugs that either we own or that are on our wishlist. Also, we’ll let you know if and where you can find one of these mugs for yourselves. This week…Mermaids!

Mug Shot (mermaids) Monday

This week’s selection is a new favorite of ours that we found while perusing the gift shop outside of the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction in Magic Kingdom. We were drawn to this artwork partly by the red-haired and blue-haired sirens (which we love!), but we absolutely adore the shape of the mug’s fishtail handle. Isn’t it so cute?! Love the details of the fish scales and the fin!
You can find this mug throughout the merchandise shops in Magic Kingdom as well as on the Disney Parks Shop app. Happy shopping!

Foodie Friday: Pepper Bacon Mac and Cheese

At Epcot’s International Food and Wine Festival for this year, we enjoyed a vast array of tasty noms. But our favorite new dish, by far, is the Loaded Mac and Cheese from the Farm Fresh kiosk on World Showcase. It was cheesy, spicy goodness!

In fact, we fell head over heels for it so much that we bought the festival cookbook just so we could recreate this yumminess at home. But it just wouldn’t be fair to you guys if we didn’t share, so here’s the recipe below….

Fabric, Patterns, and Costumes, oh my!

Last month was a whirlwind of sewing activity as we cut patterns, pinned and stitched our way around 4 costumes for our visit to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP) at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World.

It was our biggest sewing project to date since we jammed in so much in a short amount of time, but we think the outcome was fabulous! And since we love learning costuming tips from other cosplayers, we thought we’d share what worked for us.

For patterns, we used the following:

Epcot’s Food & Wine Festival!

Every fall, an event comes to Walt Disney World that draws people from around the globe because of it’s amazing food. Yes, Epcot’s International Food and Wine Festival has been amazing guests for 20 years with it’s culinary masterpieces, but it’s so much more than tasty noms.

The presentation of food, style of each country’s kiosk, and delightful names of each delicious edible creation just makes the whole event so much fun!

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party

Fall at Walt Disney World means pumpkins, leaves, and Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party! We had the best time hanging out at Magic Kingdom for MNSSHP and wanted to share some highlights with you!

Entering early at 4pm, we were able to swing by the Firehouse in Town Square and pick up our special event card for Sorcerer’s of the Magic Kingdom. Minnie looks so cute on her broom!

Next, we scooted straight back to Storybook Circus where we got to meet Jack Skellington and Sally! Since Jack and Sally are only out during these parties, we had heard that lines for them were running 2+ hours on most party nights. Since we got in line early, we waited a mere 45 minutes. And we want to give props to Jack and Sally…not only were they wonderfully charming and interactive with us, but they never took a break during the whole time we waited to see them. They were amazing!

Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar at Disney Springs

One of our favorite movie series is from Indiana Jones! The action and intrigue always makes us wish we could travel the world in search of ancient artifacts and run into some adventure along the way. Imagine our excitement when we heard about the opening of Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar at Disney Springs!!

Frappucinos & Bows: Fall Surprises!

Fall is such a glorious time of year! Here in Central Florida, we don’t get piles of crunchy leaves nor brisk cold weather in the early part of the season, but we do get a few pleasantries. As you know, some of our favorite treats are from Starbucks, so enjoying two fall flavors — the Pumpkin Spice and the Salted Caramel — as frappucinos are our warm weather equivalent to Autumn!
