Heyyy! How are you guys? We’re finally back! A lot has happened in our world over the last year or so, and we just had to step away from here and focus on our family. We’ve really missed chatting with everyone. It feels like, in a small way, we fell off the grid…stepped off the planet…lived on a remote island? Whatever, you guys get the drift. So this is a quick “what we’ve been up to” post just to catch you guys up…
Hey guys, it’s Shawnee!
First, let’s talk college. I’ve been working my butt off completing general ed classes and it’s really paying off! As of January 2018, I’ll be doing the main courses for my Communications degree. Along with being a diligent student, I’ve been experiencing anxiety since the beginning of 2016. Eventually, I discovered ways to deal with it (that I’ll write about in a future post), but I still have flashes of anxiety once in a while. On a happier note, I’m thinking about doing Disney’s College Program after graduation! There’s still a couple of years before I would join the program, but I’m super excited because I’ve always been passionate about the Disney parks and think it would be a fantastic opportunity!
Hey there! Susan here!
Next, there was my pesky eye issue. Well, the eye is still there but not as much of an issue, thankfully. So in a nutshell, l finally found a specialist who revealed I have a rare eye disease in my right eye which caused glaucoma and required immediate treatment so I didn’t lose my eye. So in January 2017, I underwent incisional surgery and now have a shunt in my eye. Yep, a tube in my actual eyeball. And no, surgery and the 2 months of recovery did not feel like kitten and unicorn kisses, but we got past it. Bummer is that the steroid eye drops I’ve been taking have now caused a cataract. Which means another eye surgery later this year. Yippee? No, but saving my vision is pretty important to me as my personal world functions rather heavily on seeing color, photos, and my family’s beautiful smiles. Plus, I’m really too young to lose my vision so I do what I have to. You guys know what I mean. 😉
So fast forward to now, September 2017.
We’re both doing great and are excited to share with you peeps all of the Disney magic that lies ahead. In case you didn’t know, we began vlogging earlier this year about our WDW adventures. We’ll be expanding on this to include our recent trip to Disneyland Paris as well as upcoming events at WDW. Sharing our videos on YouTube has been a fun experience, but we really love when people comment on our vlogs and we get to make a connection with them over our mutual love of Disney!
Looking forward to connecting with you all here as well! We love you!
