So many changes have been happening at Disney Springs in 2015! First, there’s been quite a bit of construction around signaling that more exciting new shops and restaurants are on the way. Second, a brand new parking structure is open with a second one soon to follow. And most importantly, we have a brand new name and branding of Disney Springs to replace the former Downtown Disney. Isn’t it thrilling?? Well hang on, because one of the most exciting additions, The Ganachery, is now open!
The Ganachery is located in The Landing section of Disney Springs, right across from Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar and The Boathouse. On first glance, it appears to be a tiny chocolate shop, but as we know, great things come in small packages. Upon entering, you get a sense of history from the layout and design. We were greeted by Carolina, a chocolatier who quickly shared the story behind The Ganachery.
So, according to Carolina (and Disney storytellers), this location used to be an apothecary shop. A family of chocolatiers from South America came here to Disney Springs and decided to turn it into a chocolate shop using a lot of the same decor. Isn’t that clever??
As we listened, we realized this is no ordinary spot to buy chocolate. Thoughts of white, dark and milk chocolate options were soon pushed aside by names such as Mango Curry (Indian curry and mangos with dark chocolate), Matcha Yuzu (Japanese green tea and yuzu with dark chocolate) and Gianduja (Italian hazelnut with milk chocolate). Sounds intriguing, right? After all, The Ganachery’s slogan is “Your cure for the common chocolate.” Clearly, there is nothing common here!
Amazing Ganachery Options
In case you thought there is only one way to consume chocolate (uh, hello? eating chocolate is an art and can be done in many ways!), The Ganachery gives you lots of fun options to get your daily chocolate allowance! Do you see those cool tubes above? They are filled with Crispy Chocolate Pearls, a crunchy chocolate concoction! They come in 5 flavors: milk chocolate, dark chocolate, white chocolate, strawberry and caramel. While we’ve only tried two flavors so far, our favorite is strawberry. Warning: these are highly addictive because of the crispy goodness. You might just consume a whole tube in one sitting. (Not that that’s a bad thing.)
Another option at The Ganachery is the Ganache Pop, which is exactly as it sounds. Similar to a chocolate bar but delivered on a stick, this tasty treat also comes in different flavors. We tried the Strawberry Ganache Pop (far right in the photo above), which was yummy!
One of the most unique offerings at The Ganachery has got to be their chocolate bars. Representing the Fab 5 (Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto) and 4 Disney Park locations (Aulani, Disneyland Paris, Disneyland and our home of Walt Disney World), they were very creative in combining flavors to showcase all nine bars. You can read about each of the bars above, but how about we highlight some of our favorites, ok?
Our home park, Walt Disney World, is up first with orange, fruit tea and dark chocolate. This was a bright, orangey flavor that we loved! Next we sampled Disneyland (California) which was a tasty milk chocolate filled with raisins and almonds. On the character side, the Donald Duck was a sweet mix of white chocolate, blueberries and habanero chili, but watch out for that spicy kick. And while we usually like the same foods, only one of us is head over heels in love with our next recommendation (because she’s a goofball, too). The Goofy, a blend of dark chocolate and pop-rocks-style candy, will have you holding your mouth open to friends and family as you eat it so they can hear the super fun popping!
And finally, for a special holiday treat, The Ganachery has a limited time delicacy available. The Chocolate Enrobed Stollen is a very special treat, and we’re super excited about it! Stollen is a delicious German fruit bread that our mom/grandma used to make during the holidays, but The Ganachery has pumped up their version a notch by covering it in marzipan and then “enrobing” it in chocolate and copper sugar. Isn’t it gorgeous?! And it tastes amazing!!
Check out our tour of The Ganachery on opening day!
So are you ready for a chocolate experience like no other? Then be sure to check out The Ganachery at Disney Springs!
Looks soooo yummy! Thanks 4 the tour! 😋
If only our video had smell-o-vision because the aroma in there was amazing!😄 Thanks for coming along, Allison!
Thank you gals about the tip on the stollen! Hubby has called in sick today so I have the car and might run over there this afternoon and get one. Was it a limited holiday thing? I just saw that we have a similar image layout on our posts with the candy bar labels. If you feel they are too similar and would like me to remove mine, just let me know.
Yes, get one! We understood that it was just for the holidays.🎄
Did you all see any colored holiday chocolates there when you went? I saw an Instagram post a couple days ago that had green and red chocolates next to a Ganachery wrapper and the caption said it’s good to have friends that work at The Ganachery, or something to that effect but I can’t find the post it’s since been deleted and I know when we went they did not have colored chocolates and I haven’t seen the color chocolates on anyone else’s blog or social media feeds so I don’t know if that’s really where she got them from or not. Anyway just curious if they had had them when you guys were there?
We went opening day, so they had their usual goodies. We didn’t see any red or green chocolates, so maybe that was for Christmas week.✨
