As soon as the fall decorations get put away, Disney fans wait patiently for the aroma of gingerbread and chocolate to waft through the halls of Walt Disney World’s resorts in Florida. The Disney bakeries do an amazing job of not only mixing up and baking huge amounts of dough, but these Castmembers use their skills to decorate the gingerbread and sculpt the chocolate into amazing works of art!
Gingerbread everywhere!
We thought you’d like to see them for yourselves, so let’s go on a little tour, shall we? First, check out the stunning, life-size Gingerbread House in the photo above, found at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort near Magic Kingdom.
Here’s Ginger’s Bread and Cookie Shoppe inside Disney’s Boardwalk Resort near Epcot. See the cute photo booth off to the right? Love how the location and year are included so you can make great memories.
This special Christmas gelato, sold at Ginger’s, was scrumptious! The two flavors sold are gingerbread or candy cane. We tried both, but we were taken with the gingerbread. It was the perfect blend of spices that made us feel all warm and toasty. Yum!
Over at Disney’s Beach Club Resort near Epcot you’ll find the sweetest carousel made of gingerbread and chocolate. What a fabulous smell!!! And the carousel turns, too! Each horse is decorated differently and named also: Sasha is pink with snowflakes and reindeer; Julia is red and green with holly, ivy and peppermint; Marina is teal with starfish and seahorses; and Admiral is dark blue with sea knots and an anchor. They’re all so beautiful!
Finally, we made it to the Gingerbread & Chocolate Frozen display at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Again with the lovely aroma!! And we just have to say it… Sven is everything! Right?! Just look at that cute face!
Oh, but don’t forget to pick up a treat here. See that Chocolate Peppermint Cookie staring you in the face? We can personally vouch for it’s “oh my goodness” factor…it’s beyond amazing. So if you find yourself with one of these sweets and change your mind, you know who will gladly take care of it for you. Just sayin’.
So did you enjoy the tour? We’ll have to work on a scratch & sniff option next time.
Love you!
