Every year around the holidays at Walt Disney World, a special event takes place in the Magic Kingdom… Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party!! Parades, castle shows, fireworks, treats, special characters…it’s all there!! And since we had the special opportunity to attend last week, we thought we would share some highlights of our adventure with you in case you’re planning to go!
First things first…
The party times are listed from 7pm to 12 midnight, but ticket holders may enter as early as 4pm. We entered early so we could get our bearings, get our MVMCP wristbands and snag a locker since those are at the front of the park. Lockers are only $12 to rent, and when you return your key with your receipt to the Castmember, you’ll get a $5 deposit back.
Once we got our locker, we entered into Town Square and saw Main Street USA in all it’s Christmas glory! Wreaths, ornaments, and the most spectacular Christmas tree was there in the center. Before we moved on we took a quick trip over to the Firehouse, also the starting location for the fun Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom game. Showing our MVMCP wristbands, a Castmember marked our bands and gave each of us a special event card exactly like the one in the photo above. Let’s move on!
Next stop, Jack!
Knowing that certain special characters are only out during special events, we made our way to character locations to see and chat with some of our favorite Disney friends. Our first visit was in Storybook Circus with Jack Skellington dressed as Sandy Claws (from The Nightmare Before Christmas). He noticed our skirts and when he learned that we made them, Jack commented on how his love, Sally, likes to sew also. He chatted about his confusion over the word “mistletoe” (thinking it had something to do with toes on our feet!), made us laugh, and continued to be all around charming with us!
Christmas Time with Scrooge, Donald, Daisy and Minnie!
After Jack, we quickly got in the lonnngg line for 4 of our favorites: Donald Duck, Scrooge McDuck, Daisy Duck, and Minnie Mouse! The line was quite a wait, but we had a blast chatting with our friends Jennifer and Al who were visiting from Canada… we love them!!! But it was finally our turn and well worth the wait as everyone was just so fun.
Aren’t Daisy and Minnie so lovely in their Christmas finery?! We loved seeing Daisy’s snowflakes on both her dress and her bow, and Minnie was sparkly in her peppermint swirl dress and bow!
They were just precious to chat with and Minnie made our day as she asked us to twirl with her and Daisy!
Shows, Fireworks and our favorite Parade
After our character visits, we made our way back to the front of Cinderella Castle for the Show, Celebrate the Magic (castle projection show) and Holiday Wishes (their fireworks show). We then made our way back up Main Street for the Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, our favorite event at MVMCP!!
Ahhh! The parade was so beautiful!!! This night was just so much fun and we’re so thankful we got to enjoy Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party!
If you’ve been to MVMCP, what’s your favorite part?
